Ten retailers including hospice will grace the catwalk at charity fashion event

The 10 town centre shops taking part in Fashion Fusion 2017 have been revealed by organisers.

Bohm and Bee, Dapper Fox, Palmers, Mistral, Nanook, Cabana, Javelin, Hobbs, Elizabeth Gash are nine retailers to pledge their support for the special charity event.'

Fashion Fusion, a glittering catwalk event which will be held on May 5 at The Apex in Charter Square, has raised more than £20,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care since it began in 2012 .

The evening will not only feature representatives showcasing the best of fashion from the nine independent and high street retailers but will also include catwalk turns from hospice staff and volunteers themselves.

The tenth retailer this year is St Nicholas Hospice Care itself which will be showcasing a selection of fashions from hospice shops.

“We are so pleased that once again so many retailers have agreed to support Fashion Fusion,” said Abby Mayes, hospice corporate fund-rasier.

“It is already shaping up to be a stylish night and there will be fashions to enjoy thanks to the fantastic mix of styles we will have from both independent and high street stores.

“As a charity we need to fund-raise £11,000 each day to ensure we can continue to provide the care and support people in our area need, be that services from our Bury Hospice or out in the community, for people at home.”

“Events such as Fashion Fusion make a huge difference to us and we are so grateful for everyone’s support.”

Fashion Fusion 2017 will also feature creative garments made by fashion students at West Suffolk College, who will also be helping out backstage with hair and make-up.

Sponsors for the event include Robinsons Mercedes, BID Bury St Edmunds, arc Bury St Edmunds and Javelin.

Tickets, which cost £18, include a welcome cocktail by the English Spirit Distillery, interval refreshments by Sodexo Prestige and there will also be a prize draw on the night.

St Nicholas Hospice Care supports people with long-term or life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, heart and lung disease, across West Suffolk and Thetford.

Fashion Fusion 2017 will be compered by model, fashion stylist and host of the Suffolk Fashion Show, Pam Davis.
