Thatch fire at cottage in Moats Tye sees 10 crews from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service




Ten fire crews attended a thatch fire in Moats Tye this afternoon.

The crews were alerted to the incident at around 12.49pm after smoke was seen rising from the cottage's gables.

Firefighters stripped back the thatch and were able to extinguish the fire in less than two hours.

A total of 12 engines were dispatched but two returned leaving 10 at the scene.

No other emergency services attended the scene.
