Emergency services were called to the incident just after 9am following the collision between a white Toyota Aygo and silver Mazda 6 on the B1102 between Freckenham and Worlington.

Police closed the road as fire crews from Mildenhall, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds attempted to free the teenager from one of the cars. She was then taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance.

An ambulance spokeswoman said her injuries were not life threatening and that she had been taken to hospital due to shock.
