Teenager in ‘life threatening’ condition after fall from bike

A teenager has been airlifted to hospital in a ‘life threatening’ condition after falling from a bike in Bury St Edmunds this afternooon.

The boy, believed to be 18-years-old, was flown to a specialist trauma centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, following the incident, in Oakes Road.

The East of England Ambulance Service and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were alerted at 12.06pm.

A statement from the air ambulance said Dr Ed Gold and critical care paramedic Gary Spitzer treated the patient for multiple injuries at the scene before he was flown to hospital.

His condition is described as ‘life threatening’.
