Teenager assaulted with metal bar in broad daylight in Bury St Edmunds

A teenager was hit with a metal bar in a daylight assault in Bury St Edmunds.

Police are appealing to witnesses to the incident which took place at around 3.30pm on Monday September 26.

A 19-year-old man was riding a green and black mountain bike along a pathway near a carpark off Parkway when he was approached by a 17 year-old girl.

The young woman shouted at the victim before allegedly hitting him with a metal bar, causing injury which required medical attention.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 5ins tall, and of slim build. She has long straight blonde hair and was wearing a black leather jacket with fur collar, a lilac jumper and black leggings.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact Bury St Edmunds Neighbourhood Response Team on 101, quoting 58005/16.
