Stowmarket teen Dylan Craig pleads guilty to eight offences including attack on police woman

A Stowmarket teenager has admitted attacking two police officers and a teenage girl in the town last month.

Dylan Craig appeared at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to eight offences, including four assaults, possession of a machete in a public place and three counts of criminal damage to cars.

The 18-year-old was arrested on the evening of June 3, after having carried out an attack in Newton Road which left a police woman with a fractured eye socket and broken jaw. Her male colleague also sustained a cut to the face.

Earlier that evening, Craig, who was carrying a machete, followed two 17-year-old girls to Creeting Road West where he hit one of the girls on the leg with the blade before punching her in the face.

A 16-year-old boy and 21-year-old man were also arrested on June 3 but were released without charge.

The police officers were taken to hospital for treatment and were later sent home.

Craig is due to be sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on September 10.
