THE final sponsorship money for the Bury Free Press Race For Life team has come in and we are delighted with the results.
A total of £1,005 was raised for Cancer Research UK through our efforts taking part in the morning race at Nowton Park, in Bury St Edmunds, on June 24.
There we were joined by hundreds of inspirational women who, despite challenging weather conditions, crossed the finishing line in memory of those past and present who have battled with the disease.
Barry Peters, editor of the Bury Free Press, said: “What a fantastic effort this is by the team. The money has gone to a great charity and was raised in memory of a special colleague, Cath Le Maire, who died in January.”
“Thank all who donated to the team and congratulate everyone who took part in this year’s Race For Life events.”
