Teachers raise hundreds for Banham Zoo

A pair of Bury St Edmunds school teachers have completed a gruelling fund-raising cycle to help raise money for Banham Zoo.

Curriculum lead of the Catch22 Include school in Short Bracklands, Thomas James and head of Catch22’s Suffolk schools, Alan Waldron, rode from Lowestoft to Bury and then to Ipswich, raising nearly £700.

Mr Waldron said: “Much of Catch22’s work is about building relationships with young people so they become re-engaged with an education system that, prior to us, just was not working for them – so trips to Banham really help.

“To those that donated and realise the importance of what we are trying to achieve, I extend my thanks and gratitude from our school, staff, students and the zoo.”
