Talented young performers from a summer school are preparing to tread the boards in a production of musical Guys and Dolls at the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds.

The Suffolk Young People’s Theatre will stage the ‘musical fable of Broadway’ from July 28 to August 1.

The 31 member cast, aged 15 to 21, are in the midst of 10 days of rehearsals at King Edward VI School.

Daphne Dyer, production manager, said: “It’s going to be one of the best shows we’ve done.

“We were amazed at the singing. We have some very talented youngsters.”

The company was formed 35 years ago by her late husband Ray and performs a show annually.
