Suffolk’s Walking Festival has been launched and is offering people the chance to enjoy 90 walks throughout the county.
The launch was by the festival’s new patron Lesley Dolphin from BBC Radio Suffolk. Eager walkers got together at the walled garden at Brandon Country Park to enjoy two rambles along the park’s nature trails.
Each walk has a leader who will tell people about the flora, fauna and history of the places they visit.
When it began in 2008 the festival had 30 walks. Today it offers 90.
Lesley said: “I was delighted to be asked to be the festival’s patron. All too often we rush about at breakneck speed and this is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, relax and see some of the delights of Suffolk.”
Many of the walks include refreshmentds and some include entry to a visitor attraction. The festival runs until May 31.
