Suffolk Housing employee Zoe reaches national final

A project accountant is celebrating after becoming Suffolk Housing’s second employee to reach the final 10 of a prestigious national “young leaders” competition in the space of just three years.

Zoe Lucas, 25, was shortlisted in 24housing’s “Young Leader of the Future” competition ahead of more than 100 other entrants from across the UK.

Her success comes after colleague Rob Longfoot, housing services manager, made the final five of the competition in 2013.

She was nominated for the contest by Suffolk Housing’s leadership team.

A panel of judges assessed the entries to pick the top 20, with 24housing readers invited to vote for the top 10 via an online poll.

Zoe, who joined Suffolk Housing as an apprentice in 2010, said: “One of my colleagues found out I’d made the top 20 while reading the magazine as she had her car serviced, so it was a real surprise.

“It was nice to be recognised and I enjoyed going to London and networking with other people working in the housing sector.”
