Author Jo Cotterill visited schools in and around Bury St Edmunds this week to talk about her latest book, Electrigirl.

Her visit to six schools in the Bury Schools Partnership followed a week of intensive reading by hundreds of its pupils.

The ‘champion’s challenge’ was laid down last month by Philip Daws, reading champion for the partnership’s 20 schools, which saw book tokens awarded to the students who clocked up the most time reading within a given seven-day period.

The overall winner was crowned ‘reading laureate’ and received a £20 book token from Waterstones.
