STUDENTS across Forest Heath have been learning from the emergency services how to react in a crisis.

This year’s Crucial Crew event was held this week at Mildenhall Stadium, with pupils from schools across the district being show npersonal safety skills by the police and partners.

Topics covered by the event included how to make a 999 call, fire safety, how to stay safe online, how to keep property safe and what is anti-social behaviour.

Inspector Mark Larner, from Suffolk Police, said: “This annual event is a great opportunity for youngsters to develop some essential life-skills in a very engaging way that isn’t just in the classroom.

“We’re very happy to support the project and I think everyone involved will really get something out of it.”

Schools from Mildenhall, Brandon and Newmarket all took part.
