More than 100 students hit the high notes in County Upper School’s first concert of the academic year.

Fourteen of the Bury St Edmunds school’s 20 ensembles performed including the orchestra, string orchestra, five choirs and the 70 strong wind band.

The musicians have four major concerts, a carol service and numerous performances in the community to look forward to throughout the year.

Headteacher Vicky Neale said: “Music is at the very heart of our school.

“It was particularly pleasing to see such a large number of our new Year 9 perform so well along with the strong leadership skills shown by the older students.”

County Upper School is part of the Bury St Edmunds All-Through Trust.
