MORE than 80 people took part in a fund-raising challenge to walk on hot fiery coals at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club on Sunday.
The event raised more than £15,000 for The Stroke Association and participants included stroke survivors and their families.
To prepare for the walk the brave group had an hour seminar before taking up the association’s Valentine’s Firewalk Challenge.
They walked for two metres over coals at 533 degrees.
Tim Edwards, East of England fund-raising manager at The Stroke Association, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the incredible level of support that has been shown for the firewalk. It clearly demonstrates just how far reaching the effects of stroke can be.”
