Stowmarket man charged with drug-driving after café car crash

A man from Stowmarket has been charged with multiple driving offences after a vehicle collided with a café in Ipswich in June.

Police were called to Norwich Road by the East of England Ambulance Service at around 10am on Tuesday, June 16, to reports that a Mitsubishi Shogun had collided with the front of a café, causing minor damage.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Simon Gale, 44, of Charles Industrial Estate, has been charged with driving without due care and attention, producing a controlled drug Class B – cannabis and driving a vehicle with a specified drug above the specified limit.

He has been bailed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on September 1.
