Stowmarket aviary damaged by arson


A hedge, garden shed and aviary were damaged in a deliberate fire in Stowmarket yesterday.

It happened at around 12.45am after a hedge in Gainsborough Road was set alight.

Fire crews from Needham Market and Stowmarket were called to the scene following reports of smoke.

They brought the fire under control by about 1.15am.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity around the time of the incident.

Call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting reference number ST/15/3017, with information.
