A CANCER fund-raising month at Asda in Bury St Edmunds raised £2,400.

On Monday, the store announced the total raised in its Tickled Pink campaign during March, in support of Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Michelle Nobbs, the store’s community life champion, praised staff and customers’ efforts and said: “A huge thank you must go to colleague Adrian Lingwood who completed a solo 24-hour bike ride in store raising about £1,200.”

The Bury store was a pilot for Asda’s Community Life programme and Michelle has been training ‘champions’ for other stores. She said: “All stores are now very proactive in supporting fundraising for local charities and visiting local schools to deliver healthy eating programmes to children.”
