Views are being sought on the impacts of a proposed free school in Ixworth.
The Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust will launch a six week statutory consultation on Monday (September 16) to allow the community to give their opinions on the 11-16 school, which would open in September 2014 on the site of Ixworth Middle School.
Before the school can open, the Trust and Education Secretary Michael Gove must enter into Academy Arrangements - a contract under which the Trust agrees to establish, maintain and run the school and the Secretary of State agrees to fund it.
The consultation will seek views on whether these arrangements should be entered into.
In a consultation document, the Trust says it is ‘particularly interested’ in the impact which people think the free school would have on other schools and educational establishments in Suffolk.
The Trust will hold a consultation evening at Ixworth Middle on October 1 at 7pm.
Further details on the plans and a consultation questionnaire are available at www.ixworthfreeschool.co.uk
