Armed police launch search for knifeman after robbery at Co-op in Out Risbygate, Bury St Edmunds

Staff at a Bury St Edmunds store were threatened with a knife during a robbery today.

A man, thought to be in his 20s, entered the Co-op in Out Risbygate at around 4.50pm and stole cash trays from the till.

He is described as white and 6ft, ran towards Albert Crescent in the town.

Armed police carried out a search of the area but could not find the knifeman.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 233 of March 28.
