Spring clean of flowerbeds begins for Bury in Bloom

Bury in Bloom and Abbey Gardens Friends volunteers kicked off a spring clean of flowerbeds last week.

Six volunteers, led by Bury in Bloom co-ordinator Stephen Moody, started the clear up at the Tollgate roundabout opposite the Tollgate pub.

They are looking for businesses or people to sponsor the area, which was previously sponsored by West Suffolk College.

The roundabout hosts a river of blue flowers running through it and has won prizes in Anglia in Bloom.

Stephen said: “It was an opportunity to have a good clean out and clear away all the rubbish. A lot of people comment how nice the roundabout is, it’s nice for people to come into Bury and see it. It’s an eye-opener as you come into the town.”
