When businessman Ben Lord saw the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Truck he realised he could combine two sides of his life to back the charity.
Ben is the treasurer of Ixworth Royal British Legion but he is also managing director of the promotional diecast model truck company Speedbird Promotions in Thetford.
Ben said: “As soon as I saw this truck, I instantly knew this would be a uniquely fantastic way of bringing together my modelling and trucking contacts and supporters of the Royal British Legion by producing a high quality, limited-edition model truck.”
The real the Poppy Truck has become a hit among truck enthusiasts and legion supporters.
“We are delighted to have obtained the support of the Royal British Legion here in Suffolk who are officially endorsing this fundraising initiative.
Each model will raise £5 for Ixworth RBL’s Poppy Appeal and will be a certified limited-edition to enhance its value. They will be released in October at about £95 each.
