Special buses will run for the food and drink festival in town

Special bus services will be laid on for the Food and Drink Festival in Bury on Sunday August 25 and Monday August 26.

Stephensons Buses which, provide the Breeze service in and around Bury St Edmunds, will be running a service to enable people in outlying villages to attend the event.

The buses will run from Barrow at 10 am and Stanton at 11.30am on the Sunday to Bury Bus Station, calling at villages along the way. On the Monday they will run from Haverhill at 10am and Thurston at 11.30am also to the bus station. Return journeys start from the bus station. Return tickets cost £4.

Mulleys will continue to run services from the estates around Bury over the weekend.

The Food and Drink Festival will feature celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli on Monday and Mark Poynton from Alimentum in Cambridge on the Sunday. There is also a chilli festival, farmers’ market, a mini farm, food and drink galore and children’s entertainment including a Teddy Bears’picnic in The Traverse. The event is organised by Bid4Bury.
