Spate of thefts and vandalism in Bury St Edmunds

Police are investigating a spate of thefts and vandalism in Bury St Edmunds.

A flat in Peckham Street was broken into between 10.30am and midnight on July 25. Entry was gained after a window was smashed and a Epiphone Les Paul black and white electric guitar was stolen from inside.

A car was scratched and dented while in a car park in Maid Marion Court, off Vinery Road, between 3pm, July 22 and 10am, July 24.

A car was broken into in Beetons Way on the evening of July 25 after a window was smashed. A wallet containing cash, a driving licence and a bank card was stolen.

A second car was also broken into in Beetons Way at about 7pm that day. A window was smashed and a black leather holdall containing clothing was stolen.

In Beard Road, an insecure garden shed was entered sometime between 10pm, July 24 and 5.30am, July 25, but it appears that nothing was stolen.

Police say the two incidents in Beetons Way may be linked. Contact 101.
