Police are warning drivers to take care after several vehicles were involved in collisions on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds this lunchtime.

An eyewitness has reported up to seven vehicles were involved in the incident on the westbound carriageway, close to junction 44, the turn for the A134.

However, Suffolk Police say they have been notified of four vehicles being involved. At least two of them are believed to have skidded on ice. The first incident was reported at around 12.15pm today.

A spokesman added that no-one had been injured. Fire and ambulance crews were initially called, but have been stood down.

A police helicopter has also been seen circling over the Rougham Road area of the town this lunchtime, although police say that was related to the search for a missing person who has now been found safe and well.
