Pupils of Howard Primary School were among those across Bury St Edmunds making pledges to cycling and the StreetVelodrome coming to the town on July 15.

The seven primary schools selected for the StreetVelodrome are Sextons Manor, Abbots Green, Hardwick, Ickworth Park, Lawshall ‘s All Saints, St Edmundsbury and Howard.

In exchange for the chance to ride on the StreetVelodrome, the schools have pledged to make cycling a priority in their school curriculum and find new ways to promote cycling in their communities.

Bernadette Higgins, Howard Primary School’s headteacher, said: “We have had the biggest increase of children riding to school during the BikeLife project and we are committed to continue encouraging our pupils and their families to cycle to school.”
