Staff at Mildenhall Sainsbury’s will be getting on their bikes today to ‘cycle to London’ in support of the store’s Sport Relief fundraising campaign, but they won’t be going far.

The aim will be to cycle the distance on a static bike, so though they face an uncharging view of the checkouts, at least they will not have to brave the traffic on the A11.

The staff have also raised money by taking part in inter-store quizes and a sports day and three staff members joined those from other stores on a 22 mile sponsored walk from Wells to Hunstanton.

Customers have also been able to help boost funds raised by rounding up their check-out bills with a donation.

Alan Bedwell, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s Mildenhall, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing our colleagues and customers get involved in this year’s Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games. Not only is the event going to be brilliant fun but there’s the opportunity raise money for a fantastic cause.”
