A MILLION metres is the target for one group of rowers from Needham Market who are on a fund-raising mission.

Rob Pattison is heading up a group of adults and children who will take part in the weekend row to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity and Possibilities, a charity which was set up by Mr Pattison and is committed to helping Aids orphans in Uganda.

The row will take place at Tesco, in Stowmarket ,beginning on April 8, in memory of Dick Miller, a former Needham Market Middle School teacher, who died from prostate cancer in December.

The group is aiming to raise £10,000 to be split between the two charities.

Mr Pattison said: “It was just a bit different and we have never rowed before.”
