Ravenwood Hall appoints new head chef who celebrated wedding at venue
A prestigious Rougham hotel has appointed a new head chef who got married at the venue earlier this year.
Ross Cook, 27, was chosen for the top role at Ravenwood Hall after spending the past two years working as a sous chef in the kitchen.
“I had always dreamed that one day I would be the Head Chef at Ravenwood and I jumped at the chance when it was offered to me,” said Ross.
“It has a very high standard of cuisine and I am looking forward to continuing that and then enhancing it to ensure Ravenwood continues to have a reputation as the place-to-go in the local area.”
Ravenwood Hall holds a particularly special place in Ross’s heart after he married his now wife, Laura, at the hotel in May.
“When we first looked at Ravenwood Hall in 2015, we just fell in love with this stunning place with its amazing grounds, wedding pavilion and a hotel steeped in tradition. To now be the Head Chef here is a dream come true,” he said.
Ross, who has worked in top hotels in Ipswich and Needham Market, hopes to bring ‘big, tasty flavours’ to the menu as well as local produce from the Rougham Estate.
Craig Jarvis, owner of Ravenwood Hall, said: “We were delighted to offer Ross the position as Head Chef. We are confident he will take our menus and culinary offering to an even higher level.”
