Suffolk Trading Standards is urging people to be cautious of traders going door-to-door offering to garden and building maintenance, following yesterday’s storm.

Rogue traders trick people into paying very high prices for unnecessary or poor quality work primarily on homes or garden maintenance.

To avoid becoming a victim of rogue traders, trading standards says never agree to have work done by somebody who is just passing or take their word that it needs to be done at all; never pay for work before it is completed and do not accept any offer from them to drive you to the bank to withdraw money.

It says if you need work done, visit or call 0845 408 4866.
