Work to improve a section of King’s Road in Bury St Edmunds got underway this morning.
Motorists will be unable to use King’s Road between Parkway and the cemetery while the work, expected to last two days, continues.
A spokeswoman for Kier Services, which is responsible for carrying out the improvements, said the work forms part of Kier’s micro asphalt surfacing programme.
She said: “A letter drop was sent out informing residents that there are two phases to these works – the pre-patching took place in February and we are now completing the surfacing.
“The road will be closed while the surfacing takes place – most likely today and tomorrow - but will be open shortly after the works are complete,” she added.
Road closure and diversion signs are in place.
