A motorcycle collision in Ixworth where the rider was taken to hospital is being looked at by police.

They were called at 10.15am on Friday, August 31, to attend a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the on the A143 Diss Road, at the roundabout adjoining the A1088.

It is believed the motorcycle was travelling towards Diss at the time of the collision.

The rider, a man aged in his 40s, was treated at the scene by a volunteer critical care team from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service charity (SARS) for serious leg injuries, later taken to The West Suffolk Hospital before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s hospital.

Any witnesses to the collision or manner of riding of the motorcycle beforehand, or anyone who may have dash cam footage of a black motorcycle travelling along the A143 between Bury St Edmunds and Diss on Friday morning should contact police.
