Results declared in council by-elections


The results are in for the council by-elections in West Suffolk.

At Forest Heath District Council, Victor Sasimir Lukaniuk, of the West Suffolk Independents, took the Brandon West seat winning the election by 220 votes with a 29 percent turnout.

UKIP’s Roger Dicker took the South Ward seat by 334 votes with a massive 46.7 percent voter turnout.

Meanwhile, in Bury St Edmunds, Paul Hopfensperger (Independent) was elected to represent the St Olaves ward at the Town Council, beating his nearest rival by 288 votes with a turnout of 18.9 percent.
