Resident living above Rose & Crown pub in Bury St Edmunds threatened with knife during robbery

A Bury St Edmunds resident was threatened with a knife during a robbery this morning.

At around 1.50am today (Friday), a man broke the bathroom window of a property above the Rose & Crown pub in Whiting Street.

When challenged by a resident, the man, who is believed to have been around 30, brandished a black, eight-inch knife and demanded money.

The victim handed over cash before the man ran out of the kitchen door.

He is described as being white, 5ft 11, of average build and having a tanned complexion.

He was wearing a khaki jacket with a hood and was wearing gloves.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting the crime number 37/17074/20.
