Sussex Police

Police are appealing for information after a woman reported being raped in Brandon yesterday.

Officers were contacted around 11.45am today (June 20) by a woman who claimed to have been raped yesterday morning.

She reported being approached by a man – described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build and possibly in his 20s to 30s – after going for a walk.

She said he spoke to her before forcing himself on her.

It is thought she was attacked in the Knappers Way/ Warren Close area between midnight and 3am.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area bordered by Bury Road and Thetford Road between these times to come forward.

Officers are currently working with the woman to get a full account of what happened but would like to hear from anyone who may have been out around this time as they may be able to help with enquiries regardless of whether they saw anything or not.

If you can assist, call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 39638/16.
