VOLUNTEERS restoring a 17th century barn are celebrating after several project boosts this year.
The group working on the Orchard Barn, in Ringshall, has been short-listed for a Future Friendly award after completing a community shingle roof-making project in April.
Volunteers crafted 20,000 hand-made oak shingles to create the roof.
The Orchard Barn community interest company has also been granted planning permission to use the site for a number of rural skills development courses, including traditional building skills and rural crafts.
A group of volunteers got together at the historic barn on Tuesday for the next restoration project - to build an eco-friendly cob wall.
