Police are reminding people to secure their doors and windows while appealing for witnesses after a burglary and attempted burglary in Beck Row.

Both incidents took place overnight between Wednesday, March 4 and yesterday morning, March 5.

The first occured at a house in Magnolia Close where an insecure rear patio door was entered and foreign currency to the value of US$110 was stolen from inside.

This was followed by an incident in Linden Walk where an attempt was made to open a rear patio door, but it is believed the offender was disturbed by the occupant’s dog barking.

Residents are reminded to ensure that doors are kept locked at all times and back gardens are secured where possible, for example by locking side gates.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting MH/15/374, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
