Religious community brought together at Bury St Edmunds celebration

It is hoped the Bury St Edmunds interfaith celebration will become an annual affair after its inaugural event at West Suffolk College.

Themed on new beginnings, it involved Islamic, Christian, Hindu, Humanist, Pagan and Unitarian faiths followed by a shared statement of commitment from those attending.

Mayor Julia Wakelam said: “We must stand up and make our voices heard and say that which joins us is greater than that which divides us.”
