Suspect arrested in 'murder' hunt after man found dead with stab wounds

An arrest has been made after a man with stab wounds was found dead in a street.

Officers were called to the road at 3.20am on Sunday where a man and a woman were found injured, Leicestershire Police said.

The man was treated by emergency services but was pronounced dead at the scene in Moira Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire.

The woman suffered minor injuries to her face and was treated at the scene.

A 22-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives.

The force said the surrounding area was cordoned off to allow a full forensic examination to take place.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Smalley from East Midlands special operations unit major crime team, said: "Despite the arrest our inquiries are very much ongoing.

"We continue to trawl through CCTV and searches will commence in daylight tomorrow.

"We would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it to contact us, if they haven't done so already."
