Ingham man Leonard Bates dies in West Suffolk Hospital after collision in Redgrave




An Ingham man has died following a road traffic collision in mid-Suffolk town Redgrave.

Leonard Bates, a 67-year-old cyclist, was involved a collision with tractor and trailer on Fen Street at around 9.40 am on Friday, August 23.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds by ambulance for treatment, but died yesterday (Saturday, August 24).

Police said the road was closed while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team carried out enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed or has any information about this incident is asked to contact the Serious Collision Team at Suffolk Police, quoting reference CAD 79 of 23 August.
