A RECORD number of people took part in an annual fun run in aid of charity and to help buy sports facilities for a village.
More than 200 people enjoyed the fourth Thurston Fun Run on Sunday, which included a 10km and 3km route.
As well as collecting money for their own chosen charities, funds raised from the entry fee will go towards a multi service sports area.
The event started atThurston New Green Community Centre and the winners of the 10km were Kevin Vaughan and Nicky Brinkman.
Meanwhile, 13-year-old Leuan Alldis emerged triumphant in the 3km section.
Peter Skoyles, one of the organisers, said: “It was very good even though it was a bit warm but everyone had a great time.
“There was a lot of people from the village running for their own charities and a few in fancy dress.”
Another organiser Dennis Whiting added: “The sun shone and everyone enjoyed it. It was a good all around event, which is improving year on year.”
