Tickets for this year’s Bury St Edmunds Festival are selling ‘amazingly fast’ with big names drawing audiences from across the region.
The first week of ticket sales to the public has broken previous box office takings records and festival followers are being urged to book soon to avoid disappointment.
Virtuoso violinist Nigel Kennedy and TV winners The Sons of Pitches are set to sell-out, with country singer Nathan Carter, jazzer Courtney Pine, choral specialists The Sixteen, Fodens brass band and Festival Walks among the top sellers, so far.
Nick Wells, festival manager, said: “It has been the most amazing first week of festival ticket sales since I started here, with the highest takings at the box office for over 15 years.
“It’s great that this year’s festival programme is bringing in a wider audience, and I hope people will take the opportunity to enjoy some really high quality events on their doorstep.”
The festival runs from May 20-29. Book tickets online at www.buryfestival.co.uk, call 01284 758000 or visit The Apex in Charter Square, Bury.
