Push button choice for Suffolk Police 101 call system
Callers to Suffolk Police’s non-emergency 101 line will be able to press buttons to choose from a number of departments to be put through to.
From tomorrow, an automated system will be introduced with technology, which has been used successfully by other forces and will allow non-urgent calls to be filtered to departments such as Custody and the Central Ticket Office, allowing operators to better manage other calls.
The project will run with a number of initiatives being introduced as part of the Suffolk Change Programme, which looks at how police resources can be used in the most efficient manner.
