Pupils’ modern festive tune is top of the pops at nursing home

By Newsdesk Bury

More than 20 pupils treated residents at a nursing home to Christmas carols.

Year 6 children from Norton Primary School sang classic carols and hymns at Stowlangtoft Hall with residents joining in.

A more modern tune ‘We are the guys with the carols’ turned out to be a resident favourite – with an encore request.

Bury St Edmunds MP Jo Churchill also visited the home, in Kiln Lane, Stowlangtoft, to enjoy the music.

Afterwards the pupils enjoyed refreshments and chatted to residents about their favourite Christmas memories and what they like most about the festive season.

Sally Chilvers, home manager at Stowlangtoft Hall, said: “Having the children visit is a big part of Christmas for residents at the home and something they really look forward to and enjoy.”
