Students of all ages from schools in the Bury St Edmunds All-Through Trust have been stretching their artistic muscles for a joint art exhibition.
The works from pupils at all six of the trust’s schools – Tollgate Primary, Barrow Primary, Horringer Court Middle, Howard Middle, Westley Middle and County Upper – were created as part of the school’s art curriculum and reflect the work undertaken in the last academic year.
A preview evening at County Upper on Monday, October 5, was attended by parents, pupils and governors, with the exhibition opened by Dr Veronica Sekules, deputy director of the Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts in Norwich.
Vicky Neale, headteacher at County Upper, said: “It has been very successful. It just shows the benefits of a curriculum that goes right through from four to 18, and how much pupils benefit from seeing work of other pupils of other ages.”
The exhibition will be in place at the Apex until the end of October.
