AN AUTUMN feast is on its way after a primary school’s allotment had some attention.

Beck Row Primary School’s Big Dig took place on Saturday and saw students prepare an allotment area as part of this year’s Eastfeast project.

Carrots, peas, pumpkins, sweet corn and herbs will now all be planted ready for a community feast in September.

Kirsten Middleton, early years leader at the school, said the project was a fantastic learning opportunity for pupils.

“It’ll be of benefit to them and members of the community. The children are excited about it, too,” she said.

Beck Row primary is taking part in the project in conjunction with Lakenheath Community Primary School.

The project is intended to help pupils understand the food production process.
