A Premier League referee helped inspire Bury St Edmunds’ future leaders during a visit to a school.
Bobby Madley was guest of honour at a Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering Conference at King Edward VI School.
He also took part in practical demonstrations with children from schools across Suffolk.
Bobby said: “It is important to make them understand about respect, no just in football, but outside the game as well. It helps them to understand what referees go through and it gives them the confidence to get out of their comfort zones and to think they can do something to challenge themselves.”
Head Geoff Barton said Bobby gave an ‘inspiring talk’ and the conference offers ‘great optimism about the future leaders we are developing across the county’.
