A small part of Bury St Edmunds was without power yesterday afternoon and evening.

UK Power Networks says its engineers worked as quickly as possible to restore electricity supplies to customers in the Tayfen Road area following a cable fault.

The incident resulted in five customers, including The Beerhouse Pub, losing power at 3.45pm yesterday (Wednesday) but UKPN says all supplies were restored by 7.50pm.

The Beerhouse had to close until power was restored.
