Popular community centre in Thurston appeals for volunteers and trustees

A popular community centre which has celebrated its 25th anniversary is appealing for volunteer helpers and new trustees.

The New Green Community Centre, in Thurston, needs volunteers to help with general maintenance such as serving in the cafe and bar and locking up the building at night.

The New Green Community Trust also wants new trustees, which meet monthly and are responsible or the overall running of the site.

The centre is used daily by more than 40 local clubs and organisations and has a large main hall which can seat 200, a carpeted meeting room, a bar lounge and sun lounge as well as a small meeting room.

It recently enjoyed a 25th anniversary celebration day.

The centre holds its annual trustee AGM on Wednesday, June 17 from 7.30pm in the Sun Lounge and welcomes new members. Anyone who would like to get involved should contact administrator Jill Rood on 01359 232439.
