Police rule out Thetford sex assault

Police investigating reports of a sex assault in Thetford last week say they now believe it did not take place.

Officers had been investigating allegations that a woman was sexually assaulted while walking through the Minstergate underpass in Thetford between 2am and 3am on Tuesday, May 31.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said: “Following extensive enquiries officers are satisfied that a sexual assault has not taken place as originally reported.”
